New PAGCOR logo criticized

by Carl Santos

The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) unveiled a new logo on its 40th founding anniversary on Tuesday, but some people don’t seem to like it.

PAGCOR’s new logo was introduced at an event attended by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos.

According to the logo’s description, which was read during the event, it ”incorporates the element of fire, associated with energy, inspiration, passion, and transformation.”

”It symbolizes the flame that ignites change and drives progress.”

It also said the logo ”reflects PAGCOR’s longstanding commitment to being a guiding force that illuminates the way forward, drives transformation and development, and brings inspiration and motivation to the lives it touches.”

However, a number of people thought it was ugly, a downgrade from the old one, and reminded them of the logos of some companies.

Also mentioned was the reported P3-million price tag for the new logo.
