NCT’s Taeil suffers thigh injury in motorcycle accident

NCT’s Taeil will have to undergo surgery after sustaining a fracture in his right thigh following a motorcycle accident, SM Entertainment confirmed.

In a statement released on Tuesday, August 15, Taeil’s label detailed the singer’s accident, mentioning his need to undergo surgery soon.

It said that during the early morning of August 15, “Taeil was on his way home on his motorcycle after finishing his schedule when he was involved in an accident. He immediately visited a hospital for a detailed examination and treatment.”

Following the examination, Taeil was diagnosed with a fracture on his right thigh and that surgery would be necessary. 

Currently, the singer is already in a “stable condition and is receiving the necessary treatment at the hospital ahead of the surgery.”

However, the NTC member will have to take a temporary hiatus to focus on recovery and rehabilitation.

With this, SM Entertainment announced Taeil will not be participating in ‘NCT NATION : To The World’ at the Incheon Munhak Stadium, South Korea set on August 26

The label also asked for fan’s understanding and support amidst the incident.

Meanwhile, netizens expressed understanding and well wishes to the idol.

X user @fsdnsya commented, “I know how hard it is going under surgery I hope he’ll be okay and recover soon .”

@ty_clouds also  wrote “that’s so scary, i hope he gets better soon!!!”

NCT, which stands for Neo Culture Technology, is set to make its comeback with “Golden Age” on August 28.
