NCT’s limitless expansion
NCT is a boy group formed by SM Entertainment in 2016 and has garnered immense popularity for being the largest KPop group consisting of 23 members.
The concept of this band promotes a distinctive system, with the group being divided into several subunits to perform separate subunit activities.
NCT has been holding a lot of concerts, fan meetings, and other events to accommodate all its members and to cater to the group’s diverse audiences in varying locations.
Aside from the subunit projects, they also unite as a whole group to release four full albums in the previous years, such as NCT 2018 EMPATHY, NCT RESONANCE Pt. 1 and Pt. 2, and Universe.
The group now has 22 members, as Lucas of WayV has recently announced his departure from the group.
Although NCT was originally designed to accommodate new members that are being added to the group periodically, SM Entertainment has announced the end of the band’s limitless expansion through the upcoming debut of its sixth and last subunit, NCT Tokyo.
“We will change to become the SM for fans. With NCT Tokyo’s 2023 debut, NCT’s infinite expansion will come to an end,” said SM Entertainment in a statement. “There will be no member changes and we will give full support to the existing members.”
