ALL’s good for our Monday grind, Philippines. The weather will be generally fair, except for occasional rains here and there due to the Northeast Monsoon today, February 6.
State weather bureau Pagasa said the Northeast Monsoon is still the prevailing weather system that is affecting Luzon.
Veronica Torres, Pagasa weather specialist, said the generally fair weather condition is expected to be felt in the next three days.
There is no gale warning. So good news again for our fishermen. And our fish diet.
Thunderstorms
There is neither the Low Pressure Area nor Shearline in the horizon.
But there will be times that a sudden change in temperature might force some people to duck for cover or pull out their umbrellas.
Pagasa said isolated rain showers or thunderstorms make likely occur in MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Visayas and Mindanao. Don’t worry, the rains will be short-lived.
But watch out for possible flash floods or landslides especially during severe thunderstorms.
Pagasa often issues thunderstorms advisories.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon Partly will have cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains.
Temperature check
It was a bit hot yesterday. San Jose in Occidental Mindoro and Zamboanga City registered 34.8°C and 34°C temperature respectively.
Mercury rose to 33°C level in Cotabato City, Iba in Zambales and General Santos City.
On the cooler side, Baguio City was a chill for tourists and residents at 13°C around 4:50 am.
Rizal residents must have pulled their blankets past midnight as the temperature dropped to 18.3°C.
Malaybalay, Bukidnon, Batanes, Laoag City, and Abucay, Bataan also enjoyed a 19°C morning breeze.
Temperature forecasts today will likely be within the same range.
