Miss Universe 2022 R’Bonney Gabriel visits dad’s place in Malate

MISS Universe 2022 R’Bonney Gabriel made a quick stop at her dad’s hometown in Malate, Manila after leading a charity mission last Sunday, May 14. 

Gabriel gave out school supplies to children, as shown by photos shared by JKN Global Group’s Hello Universe Facebook page. Since her visit coincided with the celebration of Mother’s Day, she also gave out roses to mothers.

The reigning queen was seen warmly welcomed by relatives of her dad Remigio Bonzon “R.Bon” Gabriel. The entire neighborhood were there to welcome the pageant queen as well. 

Gabriel had opportunity to dine with her father’s kin at a house located along Smith Street. Her American mother, Dana Walker, joined her.

Said to be very close to her father, the beauty queen’s name was derived from her dad’s nickname which is R’Bon.

Although Gabriel spent her life mostly in the US, she is no stranger to the Philippines because, through the years, she has been going back and forth to visit her dad’s home. 

The 29-year-old stunner is still in the country after serving as a judge in the recently concluded Miss Universe Philippines pageant that hailed Makati’s Michelle Dee as winner. 

Gabriel is the first Filipino-American and a native of Houston, Texas to snatch the Miss Universe crown. Prior to her entry into pageantry, she worked as a fashion designer, a model, and a sewing instructor. 

Gabriel is proud of her roots. She is known of encouraging Filipinos to compete in beauty pageants even before she won the crown last year.
