HEADS up, emo kids! Our favorite American rock band may be coming back to the Philippines!
Pop-punk band Mayday Parade had its Filipino fans asking if it will be holding another concert in the country following its recent social media posts.
The band posted several throwback photos from its previous live performances in Manila and Cebu with the caption, “We are cooking up something special for our friends in the Philippines…”
“More on that soon but in the meantime, let’s take a walk down memory lane to some past shows in Cebu and Manilla,” it added.

The post from the band garnered over 15,000 reactions, 2,000 comments, and 6,700 shares on Facebook.
This made Mayday Parade fans assume that the band may be planning to visit the country to jam with Filipinos again.
The rock band previously held several concerts in the Philippines, with its last shows dating back in 2019 at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City and the Sky Hall of SM Seaside City Cebu.

Filipino fans have long anticipated the band’s comeback show since then. And their easter egg post was a glimmer of hope.
Fans swarmed Mayday Parade’s Facebook post, sharing the thrill they feel about watching the band perform live on the Philippine stage.

Other fans also expressed their delight via Twitter.
Ian John Baetiong was “stunned” upon reading Mayday Parade’s announcement on Facebook.
“They specifically mentioned (Philippines) on their social media. These are the guys who have been rocking my MP3 player for years. Whatever they’re cooking up, I’m all for it,” Baetiong said.
An elated Michael Allen Sta. Cruz is curious about what the band is cooking. He has been a fan since 2016.
“At first sobrang saya kasi yung mga ganyang post parang naghihint yan na pupunta sila ulit dito then at the same time curious din kung ano yang something special,” Sta. Cruz told republicasia.
Gian Albert Palomeno shares the same emotions.
“I am actually a fan of Mayday Parade since high school, so noong nakita ko ‘yung post nila, I was hyped because this part was a part of my childhood,” Palomeno said in a separate interview.
The three hope to have the opportunity of seeing the band in the flesh if it is true that they will be holding another concert with the Filipino crowd.
“Hopefully, makapunta ako sa concert kasi siyempre I might be in law school na. Pero still hoping na makapag concert sila before ako makapasok,” Palomeno said.
“I’ll definitely go kung merong concert sa Manila and Cebu,” Sta. Cruz said.
“Their last Sunnyland tour was a long time ago. If they actually have a concert here in the (Philippines), count me in,” Baetiong added.

Mayday Parade is an American rock band that originated from Tallahassee, Florida. Debuted in 2006 with its extended play (EP) called Tales Told by Dead Friends, it has sold over 50,000 copies during its release.
Composed of members Derek Sanders, Alex Garcia, Jake Bundrick, Jeremy Lenzo, Brooks Betts, and Jason Lancaster who later left the band in 2007, they popularized the songs including Jamie All Over, Miserable at Best, and Terrible Things.
The band recently dropped another single album called Thunder, which consists of tracks Thunder and Losing My Mind.
Sanders, the band’s lead, recently released his solo EP called The Heavy Box.
