DON’T freak out yet, but we’re here to tell you that Filipino-Canadian actor Manny Jacinto, a.k.a. the internet’s “newest boyfriend,” is set to visit the Philippines next month!
Disney announced that the 37-year-old actor will make a special appearance at the exclusive red carpet premiere for the forthcoming American fantasy comedy film “Freakier Friday,” to be held at the SM Mall of Asia Main Atrium on August 5.
This is ahead of the movie’s release in Philippine cinemas on August 6.
“I hope to see you guys there,” Jacinto said in a promotional video posted on Disney Studios Philippines’s Instagram page.
During the event, fans have the chance to attend the premiere and be one of the first viewers to see the film.
Last year, Jacinto became the talk of the town for his portrayal as Qimir, or the Stranger, in the hit science fiction series, “The Acolyte.” Many netizens at the time swoon over Jacinto’s lethal face card, setting the internet ablaze with his photos and fan-edited videos.
Jacinto has been admired by viewers since his breakout role as Jason Mendoza in the hit fantasy comedy series “The Good Place.”
“Freakier Friday” is a sequel to the 2003 fantasy comedy film “Freaky Friday,” starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan portraying Tess Coleman and her daughter, Anna Coleman, respectively.
In the film, Jacinto will play the role of Anna’s new fiancé, Eric Reyes.
About ‘Freakier Friday’
Curtis and Lohan will reprise their roles in the sequel, which takes place years after the mother-and-daughter duo accidentally switched bodies after they cracked open fortune cookies.
Anna is no longer a teenager. She has a daughter of her own, Harper Coleman, and a soon-to-be stepdaughter named Lily Davies, Eric’s daughter.
The film’s trailer shows how the two families deal with countless challenges as they prepare for Anna and Eric’s wedding week. A part of the clip showed Anna and Tess having a session with a fortune teller who tells them, “You’ve walked in each other’s path. You learned a lesson. A lesson that may serve you again.”
The duo, who seem to be freaked out, leave the fortune teller. They wake up to different bodies again, this time, involving Harper and Lily.
Joining Curtis, Lohan, and Jacinto are Julia Butters as Harper, Sophia Hammons as Lily, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan as Ella, Rosalind Chao as Pei-Pei, Chad Michael Murray as Jake, Vanessa Bayer as the fortune teller, and Mark Harmon as Ryan.
Directed by Nisha Ganatra, “Freakier Friday” is based on the book “Freaky Friday” by Mary Rodgers.
