ACTOR and television host Maine Mendoza fulfilled a long-held dream of becoming a flight attendant when she recently underwent a crash course to become a cabin crew member.
This was for the new season of her lifestyle-travel show Maine Goals on TV5.
In an Instagram post, the Eat Bulaga host shared snaps of her training for the life of a flight attendant, which includes preparations for various eventualities. One of these is a session on how to handle amphibious landings.
She also shared that this was something her teenage self had once dreamed of pursuing as a career.
“The path I was supposed to take 8 years ago. My teenage self would be so happy,” she said in her caption.
Her show Maine Goals features different tourist spots in the country and the culture in different localities.
Maine before TV
Before she became television’s breakout star as “Yaya Dub” in Eat Bulaga’s comedy street series “Kalyeserye,” Mendoza was a normal girl with a respectable degree to her name.
She finished high school at the St. Paul College of Bocaue in Bulacan before pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Institution Management with a major in Culinary Arts at De La Salle-College of St. Benilde.
She had her internship at The Sagamore in Bolton Landing in New York.
In previous interviews, the 28-year-old comedian had been vocal in sharing that she would have been a flight attendant had she not entered showbiz.
Her plan had been to apply to be a cabin crew member right after college, she told a local magazine in 2017.
But fate had other plans.
Now, she is one of the most successful actresses of her time with shows, movies and numerous endorsement deals to her name.
She is also engaged to marry her fiance, actor and Quezon CIty 1st District Representative Arjo Atayde.
