LIST: Filipino celebrities who are military reservists

by Izel Abanilla

A number of Filipino celebrities have joined the military reserve force.

As reservists, they can be tapped as first responders when disasters strike. They can also join rescue operations, relief and rehabilitation efforts.

Unlike Korean actors who were conscripted as mandated by the South Korean government, these Filipino artists joined the service out of pure love for the country.

Let’s get to know these celebs who are also part of the uniformed service.

  1. Geneva Cruz

In March of 2022, in time for Women’s Month, singer-actress Geneva Cruz showed the full power of women when she joined the army to become a reservist even in her 40s.

The former Smokey Mountain member now carries the title “Sergeant Geneva Cruz” after finishing the Special Basic Citizen Military Training of the Philippine Air Force.
