Filipino Seonhohada will be once again blessed with the presence of actor Kim Seonho – this time, through the screening of his upcoming debut film in the country.
Philippine-based production company CreaZion Studios announced that The Childe will hit the Philippine theaters on July 5.
In this action noir film, the 37-year-old Korean actor will be offering his fans a 180-degree turn from his “good boy” role in his last series Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha.

GILAS PILIPINAS’ 2025 FIBA Asia Cup run has come to.
The Childe will follow a Filipino-Korean boxer named Marco Han, played by actor Kang Tae-joo, who goes around illegal stadiums in the Philippines. As he needs money for the surgery of his Filipino mom, Marco decided to fly to Korea to look for his estranged Korean father.
But little did Marco know, a group of people he’s unfamiliar with is also going after him. One of them is a mysterious chaser played by Kim.
The one-minute movie trailer released on Tuesday is jampacked with action scenes including gun fights, and forest and car chases.
Kim described himself as a “pro” and that targeting Marco is “just business.” The trailer ended with Kim holding a book and saying, “Hey friend, I told you we’d see each other soon,” with a sinister smile.
CreaZion Studios revealed in an Instagram post the first look for The Childe with an official poster featuring a silhouette of a whistling Kim.
“Get ready for an exciting movie experience as we take you on a thrilling adventure that will keep you on the edge of your seat,” the company said in its May 4 post.
Joining the cast members of The Childe were actor Kim Kang-woo and actress Go Ara.
The film is helmed by director Park Hoon-jung who is known for his films The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion and The Witch: Part 2. The Other One.
The Childe will first hit South Korean cinemas on June 21.
Versatility
With the release of the trailer, most of the fans praised the versatility of Kim as they compare the vibe he gives in The Childe and in Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha.
“THE CHARACTER SHIFT IS INSANE,” said user @kshsmaq.
What left an impression to netizen @jkshum is the scene in the trailer where Kim was seen in a suit, running with an eerie smile inside a tunnel.
“I love the combination of Psycho madness in his eyes, his voice giving out a short loud scream exhilarating excitement from chasing, with that creepy and cocky smile,” they said.
The Childe is Kim’s latest project after his 2021 Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha. It can be recalled that he went on months-long hiatus after he got embroiled in a controversy with his former girlfriend.
The Start Up actor first met Filipino Seonhohada in January 2023 for his first fan meeting in the country.
