POPULAR Korean actor Park Seo-joon – most popularly known for his acting in the drama series Itaewon Class and the Marvel movie The Marvels – sent fans into a frenzy when he posted photos of his character in the forthcoming film Concrete Eutopia.

Fans soon flooded his Instagram activity with a plethora of likes, shares, and comments, showing support for him and wishing him luck with regard to the success of the film. Local artist LA Aguinaldo was also quick to comment “idol! 👏” under the post.
In a little over a few hours, the post garnered almost 500, 000 likes and over 3, 400 comments. If you don’t know about it already, here’s everything that’s been revealed publicly about the film as of late.
What we know so far
The film, Concrete Eutopia, is to be directed by Um Tae-Hwa, best known for his films Vanishing Time: A Boy Who Returned released in 2016, and his directorial debut, Ingtoogi: The Battle of Internet Trolls back in 2013.
Last month, a trailer for the film was also released. Aside from Park Seo-joon, the film will also be featuring the talents of Park Bo-young (Do Bong-Soon in Strong Girl Do Bong Soon,) Park Ji-hoo (Nam On-jo in All of Us Are Dead,) as well as Lee Byung-hun (Kim Soo-hyeon in I Saw the Devil.)
It showed a world of chaos, wherein everything has seemingly fallen into ruin due to a huge earthquake. Everything, that is, except one apartment building, which those who are still alive refer to as their concrete eutopia, the Imperial Palace Apartment.
Those who managed to survive the earthquake were left with no choice but to take matters into their own hands, assigning roles to one another and taking on new responsibilities to ensure peace and harmony in their new world.
A man named Yeong-tak (played by Lee Byung-hun) takes the lead, with public servant Min-Seong (Park Seo-joon) and nurse Myeong-hwa (Park Bo-young) by his side.
The film is based on the webcomic Joyful Outcast (Pleasant Neighbor,) written by Kim Soong-Nyoong. It is the second part of the webtoon Pleasant Bullying made by the same author. Rumors of a sequel for the film (to be called Concrete Kingdom) have also been reported by various Korean websites.
Individual posters for the characters were released this July, showcasing the stoic, no-nonsense gaze of Lee Byung-hun, the kind, the worried eyes of Park Bo-young, and similar looks from Park Seo-joon, Park Ji-hoo, Kim Sun-young (who will be playing Geum Ae,) and Kim Do-yoon (who will be playing the role of Do Kyun.)
Coming to theatres soon
According to Screen Daily, tickets for the film are already available for pre-sale in the Philippines as well as Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
Many fans are awaiting the release of the film this August 9th, and they will surely be lining up outside of cinemas to get a glimpse of Park Seo-joon alongside the rest of the cast.
“The most star-studded Korean blockbuster is coming to Philippine cinemas soon!” writes Park Seo-joon Philippines, a fan page for the actor in the film.
