SOUTH Korean girl group IVE makes history after surpassing BLACKPINK and TWICE for garnering over 600,000 copies in first day sales for its recent comeback, according to South Korean music chart system Hanteo.
The all-female sextet, which is currently in third place on the list after BLACKPINK’s BORN PINK and aespa’s Girls, has already sold 601,557 copies of its I’ve IVE album.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK’s THE ALBUM and TWICE’s READY TO BE placed fourth and fifth on the chart, with 589,310 and 505,936 copies sold, respectively.
Aside from the release of its new music, IVE also dropped the official music video for the track I AM, which amassed over 16 million views in less than one day after its release.
IVE also dominated the digital music platform MelOn’s 24 Hits Top 10, settling in the top 1 and 8 spots in the chart with the songs Kitsch and I AM from their recent record.
The song Kitsch also accumulated more than 14 million streams on the digital music and podcast app Spotify.
Composed of members Gaeul, Yujin, Rei, Wonyoung, Liz, and Leeseo, IVE released its first full album, I’ve IVE on Monday, April 10.
