KIDS from the ‘90s can no longer say they saved the decade’s best music just for their generation as some of the hits of the yesteryears are coming back with a whole new twist.
One of the biggest OPM radio hits of the ‘90s was Mahal Pa Rin Kita by Rockstar. Released in 1993, the song became such a huge hit that several singers years later did their own covers. However there is one that came out very recently that hit stratospheric success – the version of Harmonica band feat. gen Z singer Justine Calucin.
The rendition was released on May 7 on YouTube. The music video for the song has 2.6 million views as of writing.
The song was an instant online hit. A clip of the music video posted on Tiktok has reached more than 13 million views.

Netizens could not help but express their praises for the band for their heart-melting version of the classic love song. They say the band had a unique relaxing vibe that’s pleasant to the ears.
While gen Z listeners were hooked to the song, ‘90s kids are happy that hits of their time are making a return.
Father and son collaboration
What’s even more interesting is that the vocals of the song are a powerhouse collaboration of father and son.
Fans were hands down to the vocalists of the band but before any competition sets in, the young singer made it clear that the voice belting the chorus was in fact, his father, Renie Boy Calucin.
