Gilbert Teodoro and Ted Herbosa were sworn in on Tuesday as secretary of the Department of National Defense and head of the Department of Health, respectively.
Teodoro and Herbosa took the oath of office before President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in Malacañang.
Teodoro previously held the top DND post from 2007 to 2009. He is also a former Tarlac congressman and mining firm executive.
Herbosa was DOH undersecretary from 2010 to 2015 and executive vice president of the University of the Philippines from October 2017 to April 2021.
He also served as an adviser to the National Task Force Against COVID-19, offering expert guidance and contributing to the formulation of ways to mitigate the impact of the pandemic.
The appointments of Teodoro and Herbosa were announced after Marcos met with Teodoro and DND Senior Undersecretary Carlito Galvez, and Herbosa and DOH officer-in-charge Ma. Rosario Vergeire in separate meetings in Malacañang on Monday.
