FIRST Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos on Saturday denied involvement in appointments made by the President and issued a warning to those who would use her name for clout.
In a video message, Marcos said she wanted the public to know that she has nothing to do with appointments in the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
“I don’t know the people involved. I have nothing to do with appointments, I leave that up to my husband,” Marcos said.
She said those who would name drop her would lose their chance at a government post.
“And if I find out that somebody’s using my name, I shall tell my husband not to appoint you, okay? So, I hope this is clear for everyone,” she said.
She asked Presidential Security Group Commander Col. Ramon “Demy” Zagala to disseminate the video.
“Because I’m sick and tired of people using my name,” she added.
She did not identify these individuals using her name.
Marcos said she was walking in the PSG Compound when she was recording her video.
Zagala also briefly showed up at the end of the 34-second clip.
