First Cebu Water Summit set

by RepublicAsia

(PRESS RELEASE)- We are pleased to announce that the Philippine Institute of Chemical Engineers (PIChE) Cebu Chapter, in partnership with the University of San Carlos Water Resources Center, PUM Netherlands, and the Cebu City Septage Management Board, will be hosting the First Cebu Water Summit on March 27-28, 2023, at the Bai Hotel in Mandaue City, Cebu.

This esteemed summit is co-presented by Nature’s Spring. This year’s theme, “Turning the Tide on Cebu’s Future through Collaboration & Sustainability,” aims to bring together stakeholders from all sectors of Cebu to address the water ecosystem concerns plaguing the province, from water resource management to sewage and septage issues.

Leaders of the metropolitan cities and province of Cebu, relevant government institutions, private and civil sectors, and industry players will gather to discuss the problems and determine the following steps to address these concerns.

As part of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals, SDG #6 – Clean Water and Sanitation, we recognize the importance of providing access to clean water and proper sanitation.

The summit’s discussions will center around the national water resource management framework that will form the backbone of the consensus among the sectors. Key players and participants from the government, academe, business, and water entities will obtain insights from water and wastewater authorities, researchers, and industry players on policy-making and technological advancements in the field.

Furthermore, the summit will provide an opportunity to open lines of communication with other water sector stakeholders and establish lasting commitments to address Cebu’s problem of water security and wastewater management.
