The Department of Transportation announced on Nov. 11 that the EDSA bus carousel would give free rides to commuters 24/7 in the last two weeks of the year.

According to the DOTr, the 24/7 free rides aim to help Filipinos get by given the continued rise of basic necessities and oil prices.

The Land of Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board will use the remaining ₱1.4 billion of its budget under the free ridership program to give the commuters free rides around the clock for two weeks.

However, starting 2023, the LTFRB will stop the free bus rides and start charging again.

The EDSA Bus carousel is a bus route going through EDSA, from Caloocan to Paranaque.
