INTERNATIONALLY-ACCLAIMED Filipina actress Dolly De Leon is reported to be joining the cast of an upcoming action-comedy Hollywood film.
According to a Deadline report, the film Grand Death Lotto has begun casting for supporting roles, including actors from award-winning films such as Ayden Mayeri (Somebody I Used to Know), Seann William Scott (Welcome to Flatch), Donald Elise Watkins (Project Artemis), and Dolly de Leon (Triangle of Sadness).
No additional details were disclosed about their characters in the film.
John Cena, Awkwafina, and Simu Liu will lead the ensemble.
Grand Death Lotto, currently in production under Amazon Studios, is a futuristic action-filled comedy film that explores the economically struggling state of California and the establishment of the Grand Lottery in the area.
To claim the prize, they must murder the winner before sunset.
American actress Awkwafina will play the role of the unfortunate lotto winner, while Cena and Liu will play rivals that protect her from killers who are coveting the commission.
This Amazon Original movie is directed by Emmy-nominated Paul Freig and written by Rob Yescombe, who is known for The Invisible Hours (2017), Outside the Wire (2021), and Rime (2017).
Grand Death Lotto will be available for streaming on Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories worldwide.
De Leon has recently gained numerous recognitions for her sensational performance in the 2022 Palme d’Or film Triangle of Sadness, directed by Ruben Östlund.
