FANS of the lush, magenta-soaked Desta: The Memories in Between can now switch from mobile to a wider screen.
This dodgeball tactics game from ustwo Games recently made its debut on PC and Nintendo Switch a year after the release of its mobile version.
Desta is a turn-based tactical adventure video game that follows the adventures of the titular protagonist, a non-binary character. They will battle with the anxiety that stems from coming home to a widowed mother, the grief that comes with remembering the memories they had with their father, and the effort to rekindle relationships with friends they left behind.

Players will be falling into a mysterious dreamworld, where they will have to guide Desta in resolving their dreams about their anxieties.

When Desta dreams, players are taken into a different battlefield where they will have to throw an emotionally-charged ball towards their opponents in a dodgeball-type gameplay in order to defeat them and earn a new set of skills and abilities.

If they win, they will be able to keep the skills and use them in the succeeding levels. But when they lose, Desta will wake up and lose the abilities. Nonetheless, they will still be given a chance to repeat the level by choosing to pick up where they left off or start anew.
The dreamworlds that the players will visit hold significance for Desta.
“Every night, Desta falls into the mysterious dreamworld, filled with shattered remnants of locations past, memories of regret-filled relationships, and powerful glowing balls that can change the course of conversation,” the developers wrote.
Aside from the immersive storyline, Desta’s dreamy visuals, evocative soundtrack, and wonderful spoken dialogue, will also get players will also get hooked on

Players will also be able to meet interesting characters with compelling stories of their own throughout Desta’s journey.
Although the game’s mechanics are simple, Desta’s message is not. It explores family relations, grief, dreams, friendships, and anxiety.
Developed and published by ustwo games, Desta was released on Steam for P458 and Nintendo Switch for P1,115 on Wednesday, April 26.
