VINCENZO heartthrob Song Joong-ki announced another milestone in his life: he just got married and will soon become a father.
Just last month, less than two years after his divorce with Descendants of the Sun co-star Song Hye-kyo, the internationally-acclaimed actor confirmed his relationship with a former British actress.
Secret Wedding no more
On January 30, he wrote a heartfelt letter to his fans, sharing that he and Katy Louise Saunders have started their lives together as husband and wife.
“I am greeting you today because I want to share a promise I made that is more valuable to me than anything else,” Song wrote. “I have promised to continue my life together with Katy Louise Saunders, who has been by my side supporting me and some I have spent valuable time with as we cherished each other.”
Song also said they already registered their marriage “to begin life as a married couple together.”
Despite the announcement, Song nor his agency did not disclose additional details about the couple’s wedding.
A better person
Song also thanked Saunders, saying that he is “becoming a better person today” because of her.
“She has a kind heart and she has lived her life full of passion. She is an amazing person, so amazing to the point that I admire her,” he said.

Aside from the marriage announcement, Song also revealed Saunders’ pregnancy, saying that they “dreamed of creating a happy family together.”
“We have put in a lot of effort to hold each other’s promises to truth, and we are sincerely thankful as a new life has entered our lives,” he added.
In line with this, Song asked his fans for their support in this new journey in his life.
In return, he promised to perform better as an actor and an individual with a bigger responsibility and passion.
“Following the wishes and support of Ki Aile, who have provided the greatest strength to me throughout my acting career, I will work to go even higher as an actor and as a person with greater responsibility and passion,” he wrote.
At the end of the letter, Song thanked his fans who had always cherished him throughout his career. He also wished his fans a happy and healthy life until they could all meet in person.
On December 26, Song’s agency HighZium Studio confirmed his relationship with Saunders after several photos of the two surfaced online.

Who’s Katy Louise?
Katy Louise Saunders is a former British actress who starred in several films including Los Borgia (2006), Third Person (2013), and The Lizzie McGuire Movie (2003).
The 38-year-old gained attention in December 2022 after Song’s acceptance video resurfaced on various social media platforms where he thanked the former actress for her support in his career.
