THE 2017 blockbuster hit Bar Boys is making its way to the theater stage!
As announced by its official Facebook page, the musical adaptation of the Philippine comedy-drama film is currently in the works.
“A musical version of ‘Bar Boys’ is in development,” it said.
Pat Valera, the writer and director of the musical Mula Sa Buwan, has been tapped to adapt and write the story.
Additional details regarding the musical including the ensemble, show dates, venue, and ticket prices have yet to be announced.
What the story’s about
Bar Boys narrates the story of a group of friends aspiring to become lawyers.

As they try their luck and enter law school, they experience a series of misfortunes that force them to learn how to balance their studies while resolving personal conflicts.
But despite the dilemmas they face, the three friends are able to survive law school and pass the bar exams.

Starring Rocco Nacino, Carlo Aquino, Enzo Pineda, and Kean Cipriano, Bar Boys made its theatrical debut on August 16, 2017 as one of the 12 official entries of the 2017 Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino.
The film, written and directed by Kip Oebanda, received several nods from various local award-giving organizations. It was nominated for best screenplay, movie of the year, and best supporting actor in the FAMAS, Gawad Urian, and PMPC Star Awards.
Veteran actress Odette Khan, who played the critical role of Justice Hernandez in the film, took home the best supporting actress trophies at the 2018 FAMAS and Gawad Urian Awards for her excellent performance.
