BAGUIO CITY– “Panagbenga” fans, residents, and tourists cheered in full appreciation and excitement as the night sky of Baguio bloomed with colorful fireworks on the cool evening of Sunday, March 5.
The City Government of Baguio and the Baguio Flower Festival Foundation Inc. (BFFFI) formally closed more than a month of celebration of the Baguio Flower Festival 2023.

Panagbenga winners
Hours before the much-awaited Grand “Panagbenga” firework display, organizers held a formal closing program at the Melvin Jones Grandstand of the Melvin Jones Football Field.
Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong awarded the cash prizes to the winners of the landscape exhibit, Grand Street Dance Parade and the Grand Float Parade.
In his closing speech, Magalong commended the people of Baguio for showing the world the warmth and hospitality that the city is known for.
Panagbenga 2023 has not only been a celebration of our city’s culture and heritage but also a celebration of our resiliency and strength as a community,”

Cadets of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) later shook the dust of Melvin Jones Football field with their marching antiques and prowess as they treated the people with their famous “Silent Drill”.

Session Road in Bloom
While waiting for the firework display, residents and visitors jampacked the last hours of “Session Road in Bloom” along Session Road.
The market encounter at the famous road started on February 26 and ended March 5, 2023, the last day of “Panagbenga”.
Minutes before the pyrotechnics, the people began occupying good spots to view the colorful lighting of the sky.
Simultaneous fireworks display in 4 locations
At precisely 8 pm, the booming sounds of fireworks exploding in the sky brought out the audience’s roaring cheers and shouts of awe. The fireworks were launched at the Melvin Jones Football Field, Children’s Park and Ibaloy Park of Burnham Park and another one at SM City at Session Rd.
The fireworks at Burnham Park lasted for more than 7 minutes, while more than ten minutes at SM City.
