BAGUIO CITY– Volunteer law enforcers in this city are in search of something peculiar: the modern-day Cinderella.

In a January 26 advisory, the Baguio Public Order and Safety Division (POSD) said someone found a left pair of a wedge sandal.

The timing is also auspicious: the sandal fell off “sometime after the clock struck 12.”

“A CINDERELLA STORY – We’re looking for the owner of this brand new pairless wedge sandal (left pair) that may have fallen off someone’s bag at the Treasury Market Division office last Monday, 23 January, sometime after the clock struck 12,” the post said.

The shoe brand, according to POSD, is M Style and the size is 38.

POSD stated that the item can be claimed at its office at the Ground Floor of Block 4 along Hilltop Rd. of the Baguio City Public Market. The office said that for the item to be claimed, the claimant should simply present the other pair.

“P.S. You may bring your Prince Charming who could put the sandal on you… if it fits! 😉” the POSD quipped.

As of this writing, the POSD post gained more than 3,900 reactions, 259 comments, and 899 shares.

‘Cinderella in distress’

Yesterday, the POSD said no one has claimed yet the missing wedge sandal.

The social media team is obviously having fun reading the comments of someone posing as Cinderella being locked up by her evil step mother.

“We were wondering why the sandal has yet to be claimed despite our post going super viral and here’s the apparent reason. Looks like the evil stepmother saw our post first and immediately locked her up in an attic! Poor Cinderella, Cruela didn’t share the wifi password with her,” it said.

Now, the POSD posed another challenge: “Any Prince Charming out there who wants to do a house to house search to save Cinderella?”

And of course, a little cute reminder for “Cinderella.”

“NOTE TO CINDERELLA: Paki pin daw yung location para hindi mahirapan maghanap sayo si Prince Charming .”
