Asian virtual electro-rock band electrOgourmet breaks out with debut single ‘OFFSET’

(PRESS RELASE)- Emerging Philippine-based electro-punk and alternative virtual band electrOgourmet releases their first single, OFFSET, and calls for everyone to face their fears and break out of their shell–to be more confident and nonchalant.

You may consider OFFSET angry girl music of the 90s– something that Kat Stratford (of 10 Things I Hate About You) would listen to with Nene’s punky
vocals, non-apologetic lyrics, and the overall angst-ridden sensibility of the song, which overshadows it, resulting in Spotify’s algorithm to put it amongst other riot grrrl and indie tracks.

But what makes OFFSET unique is its tinges of classic rock, especially on its pre-chorus guitar parts, induced by Kre’s childhood memories, listening to The Beatles, Kansas, and the like. Hence, this part solidifies the song’s melodic structure and sets it apart from the usual arrangements of pop punk and riot-grrrl tunes.

Each electrOgourmet member’s influence is diverse. Rayms’ creative drumming brought grunge and OPM to the table. This diversity makes the band’s overall sound uncommon and integrative, as exhibited in OFFSET and their upcoming releases.

The band’s look and visual concept for OFFSET were inspired by the 90s, which artist Jim Morada brought to life by drawing Y2K fashion for their outfits and backgrounds derivative of the 90s Japanese animated series Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball Z.

electrOgourmet wanted to evoke nostalgia in their music and visuals for Gen X and millennial music enthusiasts. Gen Zs will also appreciate it, given all the Y2K and 90s subcultures today.
