A1, the British-Norwegian boy group that captured the hearts of teens in the late 1990s, is coming back to Manila for the band’s 25th anniversary celebration.

Promoter Concert Republic has confirmed the band’s comeback for their Manila concert titled “Twenty Five” on October 14, 2023, at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City.

Original members Paul Marazzi, Christian Ingebrigtsen, Mark Read, and Ben Adams will be present at the concert. Paul rejoined the group in 2018 after leaving in 2002.

Heyday

A1 was among the boy bands that achieved global success in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Formed in 1998, the four had iconic chart-topping pop hits during their prime.

These include Every Time, Take On Me, Like A Rose, and Same Old, Brand New You. They won three BRIT Awards, the British counterpart of America’s Grammys.

The group last visited the Philippines in 2018 and did a series of shows in Manila, Cebu, and Davao. Back then, they held successful shows at the Kia Theater in Manila, the SMX Convention Center in Davao, and the Waterfront Hotel in Cebu.

The news about A1’s upcoming concert got Filipino fans excited, with some wishing for meet and greets and performances outside of Manila again.

Tickets will go on sale starting Friday, April 28 at noon. Prices range from P2,750 (Balcony 2) to P5,250 (Orchestra VIP).

Tickets will be available at all TicketNet outlets or can be purchased online through www.ticketnet.com.ph. For more information, you may call (02) 911-5555.
