Songs that convey the message, ‘Take it easy, you’re going to be fine’

by Christina Indon

Being in a new environment can be overwhelming and draining. There might be cases where we feel like we have to keep up with everything in a snap. But the truth is, it doesn’t work that way. Everything takes time.

As you go through the journey called life, maybe some music will help you overcome a difficult situation where you feel like giving up.

“Vienna” by Billy Joel

The lines “Slow down, you’re doing fine” might make us cry in a jiff. The world is going so fast that we feel like we’re behind. When we focus too much on catching up, we tend to miss the little things.

The thing is, life is not supposed to be a race. Enjoy the little things. Give yourself a break. Don’t be so hard on yourself.

“You’re On Your Own Kid” by Taylor Swift

This song might be a big slap in the face. The reality is that entering adulthood means working toward independence. You have to rely on yourself. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t enjoy life.

Taylor Swift’s line, “Everything you lose is a step you take, So make the friendship bracelet, take the moment and taste it, you’ve got no reason to be afraid,” reminds us that even if life gives you the hardest obstacles, it is good to remind ourselves of the good days. Every good or bad lesson is a stepping stone to a new beginning.

“Permission to Dance” by BTS

Again, bad days happen. But we can always choose to be happy.

The line, “We don’t need to worry, ‘Cause when we fall, we know how to land,” means we can always overcome our problems.

It might be easier said than done. However, we have the option to consider ways to overcome our negative feelings.

“Don’t Be So Hard on Yourself” by Jess Glyne

“Don’t be so hard on yourself, no, Learn to forgive, learn to let go” hits right in the feels when you’re the type who scolds yourself many times. Mistakes happen, and we’ll always feel like the world will end because of them. Nonetheless, these mistakes offer us a chance to grow as individuals.

Forgive yourself for the mistakes you made. The past is the past, and there are lessons we can learn from it.

“Who Says” by Selena Gomez

Judgmental people are always there, pretending they know everything about you.

Sometimes people can bring you down just by one single mistake or a trait that makes you feel like you “don’t belong,” but as long as you know your worth, you’re going to be fine.

Other people will bring you down and make you insecure. But those judgments can be brushed off and do not define who you really are.

Bad days will always come, but that doesn’t mean we can’t choose what happens. The world might be a fast-paced, cruel, and judgmental place, but we can always choose what’s best for ourselves.
