Pornhub Called out for Skirting Instagram Ban

by Athena Yap

MANILA, Philippines – US based non-profit organization National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE) criticized Pornhub for its “arrogance” after finding out that the site created a new Instagram account after getting banned for violating its policies numerous times.

NCOSE Vice President Haley McNamara called Pornhub “a hub for sexual exploitation” and said it “acted deceitfully by creating a new Instagram account.”

“This is yet another example of Pornhub’s arrogance. Pornhub is constantly looking for the next PR opportunity to sanitize the abuse that it sells.Pornhub is rife with child sexual abuse material, sex trafficking, filmed rape, non-consensual videos and images and a myriad of exploitative and criminal material. It is not a company that acts in good faith,” McNamara said.

She called on Instagram to enforce its policy for new accounts that states that it must not have previously disabled the user’s account for violation of law or any of its policies.

Reports said Instagram banned Pornhub in September for repeatedly violating its policies.

Pornhub subsequently responded via an open letter, endorsed by adult content creators and the Free Speech Coalition, demanding an explanation and guidance from Instagram as to why their accounts are continuously deleted.
