Say Alonzo

Brought into the limelight as a contestant on the first season of Pinoy Big Brother (PBB,) actress, and host Say Alonzo has since been making a name for herself by starring in Bahay ni Kumu Level Up

Since her stint on PBB, the Benilde graduate has starred in various films such as ZsaZsa Zaturnnah Ze Moveeh (2006,) My Kuya’s Wedding (2007,) Stairway to Heaven (2009,) and A Secret Affair (2012.)

Alonzo carved a place for herself in the hearts of many PBB fans thanks to her bright, sassy, and truly authentic personality. She continues to present herself to be that same girl as a host on Kumu.

As someone who’s been in the showbiz industry for 17 years, Alonzo is ready to share what she’s learned in her journey.

KC Montero

Having grown up in the U.S., KC Montero graduated from Pierce Community College and then later moved to the Philippines, where he started to grow as a VJ on MTV back in 1999. He has since hosted several shows on channels like National Geographic, Fox Network, the Discovery Channel, and the History Channel.

He’s also dabbled in a variety of acting gigs. In 2017, he played the recurring character Rigor Morales in Alyas Robin Hood, and more recently from 2019 until 2021, he played the role of Lance Mendez in Ang Probinsyano.

Currently, Montero is the host of Lunch Out Loud on TV 5 and a DJ on the radio station Magic 89.9. One of his main priorities at the moment is taking on the role of Vice President of Content at Kumu, where he’s also hosted many shows such as Quiz Mo Ko, May Tama Ka, and the Kumu Livestreaming Awards.

This coming May 12, Montero will be using his prowess in content strategy to look at the best ways to survive in the entertainment industry. Through his many years of experience, he’ll be able to guide you on how he’s managed to wade through any form of influencer marketing, be it press, partnerships, bloggers, or social media.

Hiyasmin Neri-Soyao

Neri-Soyao, who graduated from UP and then went back to studying to take up her Master’s degree in Ateneo, has dabbled in three media worlds: hosting, acting, and singing.

First starting her journey by starring in the TV series The Wedding (2009,) Neri-Soyao then continued to star in many other shows and films that would showcase her range as an actress.

You may know her as Jane from Xenoa (2007,) Jane from UPCAT (2008,) Kitchie from Guns and Roses (2011,) or from the series of different characters she’s played on Maalaala Mo Kaya (2008-2016.) She also joined the indie band The Pin-Ups for a short period.

At present, she’s moving away from acting and is focusing on creating her business empire through her business, Shoppertainment Live Inc, a live-streaming network that’s aimed to promote e-commerce, digital marketing, and the use of social media in today’s industry of consumption.

We can’t wait to hear her insights on her journey as she’s shifted away from acting and has moved on to become a powerful female CEO in the Philippines, running her own business and girl-bossing her way through life.

James Rumohr

After finishing his education at California State University and then going to the University of San Francisco for his Master’s degree, Rumohr became a part of the United States Air Force. Here he served as a Staff Sergeant for seven years.

Rumohr then moved on to City Year, a non-profit education aimed to help students and schools by communicating with children and how they can improve their lives both academically and socially. Here he acted as the Senior Program Manager until 2015.

He continued down his road of kindness toward the youth by teaching at the San Jose High School, and then becoming the Dean at St. Hope Public Schools. He then shifted career paths, turning toward the entertainment industry to bring joy as the Chief of Staff at Kumu.

As a co-founder and active participant of the KUMUnity–those that are avid users of the Kumu app–we hope to hear from him about how exactly he managed to shift from a career in education to one of entertainment, and how he managed to brave through the number of challenges he’s had to go through while setting up what has since become one of the biggest live streaming apps in the Philippines.
