OPM Star MRLD Represents PH at Indonesian Music Fest in May

Rising OPM (Original Pilipino Music) singer-songwriter, mrld, has been confirmed to be one of the headliners at the “Off The Weekend (OTW)” in Indonesia scheduled on Saturday, May 4.

The 19-year-old artist is the only Filipino act to perform at Off The Weekend. The event is one of Indonesia’s major music festivals which will be held in Lapangan Rampal in Java. 

She will share the stage with notable Indonesian artists Vierratale, Nadin Amizah, Happy Asmara, Rumah Sakit, Shaggydog, and Singaporean artist Sezairi.

Who is She is very vocal about simply performing on stage one of her lifelong dreams on her social media pages and in interviews. 

She is always eager to show who “mrld’ is not just to “wrld”, her fans, but also to everyone who listens to her music.

The singer promised her Indonesian fans an excellent performance and an unforgettable experience being the only OPM act on the lineup and headlining. 

This is a tremendous leap for her in her music career.

Also known as Meriel De Jesus, mrld has been with O/C Records for three years under the mentorship of Kean Cipriano and Chynna Ortaleza. She is among the top female artists on Spotify, boasting nearly 4.4 million monthly listeners.

She was the second most streamed female artist along with Moira Dela Torre in May 2022. She was also acknowledged as the RADAR Artist of the Year by the said music streaming platform earlier this year.

This is not the first time her music has been recognized by Indonesia. She already made her name in the country as her hit track, “An Art Gallery Could Never Be As Unique As You,” has been included in the Top 150 songs on Spotify Indonesia in 2023.

She continues to step up in the OPM scene with her recent nomination for the Listener’s Choice award at the Billboard Philippines Women in Music Awards.

“Nakakaiyak. I hope I made u proud 14 yr old mrld” she said on X, reposting a tweet about the said event.
