Magpahinga by Ben&Ben

With the song’s opening lines, you can already feel how emotional it is.

The first line reflects what people feel when they are overwhelmed by the problems they have to face: “Kulang pa yata ang bente kwatrong oras sa’kin sa mga problema kong mas marami pa sa mga bituin.”

The song’s chorus simply tells listeners that taking a break is not wrong and you can always lean on someone’s shoulder and not carry the weight alone.

The lyrics speak of seeking comfort from somebody before you face challenges together: “Dito ka lang sa’kin magpahinga muna, lalabanan din mga dambuhalang ‘di maubos na problema, malapit na, pero ‘di rin kasalanang magpahinga.”

Kaakbay by Iñigo Pascual

This song might be a theme song for an insurance company, but the lyrics still deliver the message that we all need a friend or an ally.

The lyrics “Kaakbay hawak-hawak ang kamay, umulan umaraw man ikaw ang kasabay” and “Tinatawid natin anumang tulay, hindi natatakot harapin ang pagsubok” talk about somebody having your back as you navigate challenges.

In life, problems will come and you may slowly lose hope. But the song reminds you that you can face these and see a brighter future ahead if there is somebody by your side.

Kapit Lang by Hazel Velasco

When you feel like giving up, remind yourself of these words: “Kapit lang.”

In Hazel Velasco’s song, she reminds people that we all have days where we want to let go and give up. But with someone by your side and encouraging you to keep going, you will overcome the obstacles.

The words “Kapit lang, kapit lang, huwag kang mangangamba, hahawakan kita” are enough to let you know that you’re not alone in your battles.

Hawak Kamay by Yeng Constantino

This nostalgic 2007 song reminds listeners that it’s okay to rely on someone when you feel like your world is crumbling down.

It has a positive message about sticking with someone through thick and thin:  “Hawak-kamay di kita iiwan sa paglakbay, dito sa mundong walang katiyakan, hawak-kamay di kita bibitawan sa paglalakbay sa mundo ng kawalan.”

It makes you feel like in every journey you take, there is always someone by your side to hold your hand and guide you. It also makes you feel that there is still hope for you to overcome obstacles in life.

Huwag Kang Matakot by Reese Lansangan

By the title itself, Reese Lansangan wants to tell listeners of this song that there will be someone with them during hard times.

The first verse goes, “Huwag kang matakot ‘di mo ba alam nandito lang ako sa iyong tabi ‘di kita pababayaan kailanman. At kung ikaw ay mahulog sa bangin ay sasaluhin kita.”

Throughout the whole song, which is a remake of an Erasherheads original, Reese keeps repeating the lines “Huwag kang matakot” and “Kasama mo naman ako” to emphasize that we have someone we can rely on.
