Nike offers Chinese New Year-inspired sneakers

by Joshua Gerona

GLOBAL sports brand Nike is offering some of the best sneakers inspired by one of the most important events in the Chinese calendar—Chinese New Year.

In celebration of the Year of the Dragon, here are some of the best shoes you can buy for yourself to complete your CNY-inspired outfits on February 10.

Air Jordan 1 Low SE ‘Lunar New Year’ (Women’s shoes)

This elegant Air Jordan sneaker is a nod to Michael Jordan’s low-top flagship, featuring a full leather construction. The textured Swoosh logo is inspired by the Chinese Zodiac’s mythological creature for this year—the Dragon.

The sneaker is painted in a mix of white and panels of red, symbolizing luck and happiness in Chinese culture.

Its metallic embroidered Jumpman on the tongue and satin collar lining also allude to the aesthetics and essence of the Lunar New Year.

The Air Jordan 1 Low SE Lunar New Year is available for P7,095 on selected Nike stores online and in-store. Don’t forget to open the red envelope inside the special edition box to see a good luck Jumpman charm.

Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG Chinese New Year (Older Kids’ Shoes)

As part of the Air Jordan 1 Low series, this highly anticipated Air Jordan sneaker is a tribute to the Chinese New Year with its harmonious blend of sail, cedar oil green, light pumice, and dark team red.

The base provides a neutral canvas to contrast the remaining colors, adding unique vibrancy and aesthetics to the Year of the Dragon.

The new Air Jordan sneaker is available for only P6,495 at selected physical and online Nike stores.

Air Jordan XXXVIII Lunar New Year

Inspired by the Year of the Dragon, the new Air Jordan 38 celebrates Chinese New Year with its incorporation of edge-cutting technology, including the X-plate and Zoom Strobel cushioning.

The sneakers flaunt a festive colorway, blending celebratory hues of cedar, metallic gold grain, light pumice, sail, oil green, and dark team red. Red, representing luck, is featured more prominently in the shoes.

This Air Jordan 38 is available for only P10,895 in selected Nike stores in the country and on its website.
