Work in gov’t, classes suspended in NCR

DUE to persistent rains that flooded majority of the streets in Metro Manila, Malacanang ha suspended work in government and classes in all levels in the National Capital Region

Metro Manila had been placed under red alert since early morning causing wide-spread floods in the streets and water levels rising.

The rains are being brought by southwest monsoon and Typhoon Carina.

“In view of the forecasted continuous rainfall brought about by the Southwest Monsoon and Typhoon Carina at 05:00 a.m. today, 24 July 2024, as recommended by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council,” Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin said in his announcement.

“However, those agencies whose functions involve the delivery of basic and health services, preparedness/response to disasters and calamities, and/or the performance of other vital services shall continue with their operations and render the necessary services.”

Private companies are being left to their officials to discuss.
