THE Philippine National Police was able to serve a warrant against Kingdom of Jesus Christ founder Pastor Apollo Quiboloy but not before tensions rose in Sasa, Davao City.
More than 100 police officers from various units of the PNP served the warrant against Quiboloy, who is facing abuse and trafficking cases in courts in the city and in Pasig City.
However, it is still not clear as of presstime if the warrant served was a search or arrest warrant.
Supporters immediately blocked the entrance gate calling for “justice” for the fugitive pastor, who remains at large.
His supporters insisted that there is no truth to claims of sexual abuse and trafficking, saying that such claims were made by former members that hold grudges against the religious group.
PNP personnel, including some in helicopters, were able to enter the KOJC compound.
Quiboloy, a spiritual adviser of former President Rodrigo Duterte, has not been seen in public since courts issued warrants for his arrest.
