SEVERAL Local Government Units suspended onsite classes for Tuesday, May 7, 2024 with temperatures still reaching dangerous levels.
The LGUs said that schools under their areas should simply shift to asynchronous classes or alternative learning modalities.
Likewise, for areas where private schools were not indicated, the LGU said that the suspension of in-person classes is being left to the discretion of school authorities.
In Metro Manila those that made announcement include:
- Pasay City – All levels, public and private (May 7-8)
- Quezon City – Face-to-face classes in public schools will be suspended automatically, if the heat index reaches 40°C
For cities and municipalities those that made announcements include:
- Indang, Cavite – Pre-school to senior high school, public (until May 10)
- Sta. Rosa, Laguna – Elementary to high school, public (May 6-10)
