WITH the rainy season still lingering around the corner and extreme heat conditions continuously being felt in the country, several local government units have decided to suspend face-to-face classes today, May 17, 2024.
The schools had been advised to simply shift to asynchronous classes or alternative learning modalities.
If private school suspension is not included, then the suspension of in-person classes is left to the discretion of school authorities.
For Metro Manila those that declared a suspension on on-site classes are: Muntinlupa City (blended learning modality for kinder to Grade 12, public schools; Pasay City (all levels, public and private (May 17-18)).
In the provinces, Bulacan still declared face-to-face suspension in all levels, public schools.
Other cities and municipalities include: Angeles City (all levels, public and private); Binmaley, Pangasinan (afternoon classes, preschool to senior high school, public and private (May 16-28)); Iloilo City (all levels, public and private); Tanza, Cavite (afternoon classes for kinder to Grade 12, public schools); Tuguegarao, Cagayan ( afternoon classes in preschool to senior high in public schools); and Umingan, Pangasinan (afternoon classes for preschool to senior high school, public (until May 31)).
