TYPHOON Jenny has left the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and is no longer directly affecting the country, PAGASA said on Friday.
At 4 a.m., Jenny was located 385 kilometers west northwest of Itbayat, Batanes, moving westward at 10 kilometers per hour.
It has maximum sustained winds of 120 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 150 km/h.
“Typhoon Jenny is less likely to directly bring heavy rainfall over the country throughout the forecast period. Furthermore, the effect of the typhoon on the Southwest Monsoon has weakened, although the western section of Luzon may still experience some rainshowers,” PAGASA said in its 5 a.m. bulletin.
“The weaker enhancement of the Southwest Monsoon by Jenny may still bring infrequent gusty conditions for the next three days over the western sections of Northern and Central Luzon, especially in coastal and upland/mountainous areas exposed to winds,” it added.
Jenny is expected to move westward slowly over the coastal waters of southeastern China.
“Jenny is forecast to remain a typhoon until today or early tomorrow before entering a sustained weakening trend. The typhoon is forecast to become a remnant low by late Monday or early Tuesday,” PAGASA said.
