NO SARINA BOLDEN, no problem. The Philippine Women’s National Football Team cruised past Cambodia with a dominant 6-0 win in the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers at the Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh.
Even in the absence of key players like Sarina Bolden, Katrina Guillou, and Reina Bonta, the Filipinas showed their class and control, overwhelming the host nation in their Wednesday night clash.
Despite some late-game tension—highlighted by Nina Mathelus receiving a red card in the 90th minute after a controversial challenge—the Filipinas were firmly in control for the vast majority of the match.
The commanding victory further cemented their lead in Group G, building on their earlier triumph over Saudi Arabia to maintain an unblemished 3-0 record in the qualifiers.

Compared to their Saudi Arabia match, the Filipinas delivered sharper finishing against Cambodia. Early in the first half, quick goals from Alexa Pino and Meryll Serrano gave them an early cushion.
Before halftime, they added a third in the 40th minute when Sofia Wunsch’s effort deflected off a defender, Somrit Nimol, and ended up in the back of the net.
The onslaught didn’t stop there. In the second half, captain Hali Long and Chandler McDaniel struck again in the 48th and 56th minutes. Long’s goal came from a well-executed set piece just minutes after the restart.

Cambodia tried to salvage a goal late in the game, but the hosts failed to convert their chances, allowing the Filipinas to finish with a dominant clean sheet.
“To be honest, we watched Hong Kong against Cambodia. I was actually quite nervous to this game when we got the first and second goal, I thought we were doing good,” Serrano said, who was one of the four Filipinas who scored.
“I mean, it’s been a good two games now and I think we just have to keep going. We have one more game against Hong Kong and we really wanna go and get all the points,” she went on to say.
With the national team having Hong Kong as their remaining task in the group, the Filipinas are more eager to finish it with a bang. The country will face Hong Kong next, scheduled for Saturday, July 5, at the same venue.
