SCTEX raises toll on Oct. 17

STARTING Tuesday, the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) said that the new rates for the Subic Clark Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) will increase.

In a statement, the TRB said that they approved the increase “pursuant to the petitions for toll rate adjustments filed by NLEX Corp. in 2020 and 2022.” 

This will mean that for motorists that are traveling from Mabalacat, Pampanga to Tarlac will be charged with an additional rates of the following:

– Class 1 vehicles (cars, jeepneys, vans, pick-ups)- P25

– Class 2 vehicles (buses and trucks with a height of more than 7.5 feet) – P50 

– Class 3 vehicles (large trucks and trucks with trailer) – P75

Meanwhile for the vehicles that will go through Mabalacat City and Tipo, Hermosa, Bataan (near Subic Freeport) will have an additional of: 

– Class 1 vehicles – P40

– Class 2 vehicles – P81

– Class 3 vehicles – P121

On the other hand, the motorists who Meanwhile, motorists who will be traveling SCTEX end-to-end between Tipo, Hermosa, Bataan (near Subic Freeport) to Tarlac: 

– Class 1 vehicles – P65

– Class 2 vehicles – P131

– Class 3 vehicles – P196

According to the TRB, the new rates will be rolled out in tranches.

The regulating body likewise gave justification to approving the hike, saying that it “undertook numerous infrastructure and enhancements projects as part of its commitment to improve motorists safety and convenience while traveling the SCTEX.”

The regulatory body said that the improvements include the upgrading of roadway lights and signage.

There were maintenance done on the toll plaza as well as the pavement replacement, and the RFID system enhancements were also done.
