INTERIOR and Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos said on Monday that the reward for the arrest of fugitive Kingdom of Jesus Christ leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy has gone up to P10 million.
Quiboloy is facing charges of sexual abuse as well as human trafficking, wile while his co-accused, identified as Crisente, Paulene and Ingrid Canada, Sylvia Cemañes and Jackielyn Roy were offered a P1 million bounty each.
“Gusto ko ianunsyo sa mga nanood at nakikinig na meron tayong mga kaibigan na gustong tumulong sa paghahanap sa kanila at nag-offer ng reward ng P10 million for any information leading to the arrest of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy and P1 million each for Cresente Canada, Paulene Canada, Ingrid Canada, Jackielyn Roy at Sylvia Cemanes,” Abalos said.
However, Abalos said that for safety, the identity of the individuals who raised the reward money with the continued frustration over Quiboloy’s case remained a secret for their safety.
“Ayaw ipasabi yung pangalan nila but you know mga kaibigan eto po nangyari rito kaya meron kaming mga kaibigan na they are so frustrated about what’s happening right now at gusto makatulong kaya nagbigay ng reward ng P10 million,” Abalos said.
Meanwhile, Abalos called on Quiboloy to surrender, so as to prove his innocence against the accusation hurled against him.
“Sa nangyayaring ito parang tinatapakan ang sistema ng pamahalaan parang niyuyurakan. Magse-serve ka ng warrant parang ikaw pa ang masama. Simple lang, ang batas ay batas ang may kasalanan mananagot at yan ang gagawin naming Pastor Quiboloy,” he said.
“Ngayon simple lang may warrant, kung wala kang kasalanan sumuko ka mahirap ba yon. As of now our intelligence andirito lang sa bansa,” he added.
Presently, the PNP is gathering witnesses for obstruction of justice raps vs. ‘coddlers’ of fugitive Quiboloy
Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Rommel Marbil noted that the people that are involved in hiding Quiboloy’s whereabouts may face charges for obstruction of Justice.
“Obstruction of justice that’s PD 1829, obstruction of justice. Yun yung puwedeng ikaso na nagtatago at hindi sinasabi kung asan, eto, harboring or concealing or facilitating the escape of any person he knows or has reasonable grounds to believe or suspect has committed and offense under existing penal laws in order to prevent his arrest, prosecution and conviction, ” Marbil said.
He said they are also looking into the possible liability of former President Rodrigo Duterte who said that he is aware where is Quiboloy is hiding.
“Alam mo tama yan and we are looking for it. Any statement na nasasabi kung asan yung tao ay talagang pinag-aaralan namin kung talagang papasok doon sa PD 1829 and we are just waiting for witnesses na ito yung sinabi niya para magfile ng PNP kung talagang nagwawarrant dito sa PD 1829,” Marbil explained.
Duterte was named as the new administrator of properties belonging to KOJC.
Quiboloy has three standing arrest warrants for child and sexual abuse issued by the Davao City Regional Trial Court and human trafficking issued by a Pasig City court. These cases are non-bailable.
