CONTROVERSIAL drag queen Pura Luka Vega was against charged, this time by the Kapisanan ng Social Media Broadcasters ng Pilipinas, Inc. (KSMBPI), over the controversial “Ama Namin” performance that was posted and went viral on social media in July.
This time the artist is facing a criminal charge, as KSMBPI’s Leo Alarte told radio station DZBB that they had submitted their complaints to the Pasay City Prosecutor’s Office.
Alarte is citing a violation of Article 133 of the Philippine Constitution, that talks about “offending religious feelings.”
They also cited Section 6 of Article 201 of the Revised Penal Code in relation to the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.
According to the KSMBPI, the complaints were still to Pura’s performance of “Ama Namin” which the group described as “pambabastos sa Panginoon.”
Earlier Pura was arrested and was held under the custody of the Manila Police District Station 3 in Quiapo, Manila, after the devotees of the Black Nazarene, Hijos del Nazareno, filed a complaint.
The drag artist spent three days behind bars before posting bail.
Pura had reiterated that his version of the Ama Namin performance was not meant to disrespect any faith.
