THE Philippine National Police (PNP) is set to deploy 12,000 personnel for President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s State of the Nation Address (SONA) on July 28.
PNP Spokesperson Police Brigadier General Jean Fajardo said that more or less 12,000 will be deployed within the vicinity of the House of Representatives (HOR)
Fajardo added that they will also have a coordinating conference on Wednesday, along with the Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms of the HOR, to further discuss some of the security protocols within and outside the HOR.
PNP chief PGen. Nicolas Torre III directed PNP personnel to conduct an “honest-to-goodness” threat assessment for the said event, which will be held at the Batasang Pambasa Complex in Quezon City.
Fajardo further discussed that if there’s a need to adjust the security template, they will provide an updated threat assessment that includes the possible number of people who will conduct activities.
Named activities included rallies for both pro and anti-Marcos administrations.
Marcos’ 4th State of the Nation Address will be delivered on July 28, 2025, and will be held at the Batasang Pambansa Complex.
On Tuesday, July 8, Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro stated that Marcos is already preparing for his upcoming SONA and is set to provide a better report of his accomplishments and projects.
