WITH its new Express Mail Service (EMS) delivery hubs across Metro Manila by the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost), Filipinos can now enjoy the benefits and convenience of next day delivery along with its domestic and international express mail services starting January 13.

The PHLPost’s Domestic Express Mail Service (DEMS) offers the quickest method for sending urgent goods such and documents across the country within the next day.

PHLPost’s Corporate Communications Division, Alvin Fidelson stated that these hubs will open in the area of Manila, Quezon City, and Makati Central Posts Office and will complement an existing hub in Pasay City.

Fidelson said that the Central Mail Exchange Center (CMEC) in Pasay City are currently handling the majority of express mail deliveries within the National Capital Region and with the new hubs, it will allow EMS personnel and couriers to operate more efficiently closer to customers.

Due to this expansion, delivery times will be reduced while improving service accessibility.

“These EMS hubs will provide customers with greater convenience and savings, as they are now closer to their locations,” he said.

The new delivery system will optimize the service across the densely populated region, representing the porting of PHLPost’s delivery volume and under the new service structure, domestic express mail that are sent from the post offices after the cut-off will be delivered within 48 hours.

Each hub will cover specifics areas within the following regions: the Quezon City hub will serve Caloocan, Malabon, Marikina, Navotas, Novaliches, Quezon City, and Valenzuela; the CMEC hub will cater to Pasay, Muntinlupa, Las Piñas, Parañaque, and Taguig; the Makati hub will handle Makati, Mandaluyong, Pasig, and Pateros; while the Manila hub will service Manila and San Juan.

The cut-off time of the post office varies by location. Most areas within the National Capital Region require items to be mailed by 2:00 PM or 3:30 PM.

Meanwhile for the undelivered items, it will be held for seven days in the office and will allow customers ample time to request redelivery or pick up their items without the need to travel to the CMEC.

PHLPost is leveraging its membership with the Universal Postal Union and bilateral agreements with 56 countries to facilitate international EMS shipments.
