STATE seismologists on Friday evening detected a magnitude 5.8 earthquake that rocked Leyte.
According to reports from the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) it was recorded at 6:16 p.m. and its epicenter was located 32 kilometers southeast of Abuyog, Leyte.
The earthquake was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 8 kilometers, state seismologists said.
