BELOVED Golden Retriever Killua tested positive for rabies, the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) said.

According to the group, they were able to confirm this through a test that was done by the Bureau of Animal Industry over the weekend.

PAWS said that they had informed the owner of the findings.

It will be recalled that Killua was killed in Camarines Sur on March 17.

The suspect was identified as Anthony Solares. He said that Killua chased his child and he simply took action.

But according to a CCTV footage posted by Vina Rachelle Arazas – Killua’s owner – on Facebook, Solares was seen hitting Killua when the dog went running around, trying to escape.

PAWS also said that they filed a criminal complaint against Solares, for violating the law that prohibits people from engaging in the dog meat trade.

Solares reportedly brought the pet dog to a “known slaughterhouse and dog meat cooking area” after killing and sacking it.
