STATE weather bureau PAGASA is monitoring a tropical cyclone outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
Located 3,045 kilometers east of Visayas as of 3 a.m. Sunday, Tropical Storm Bolaven had maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 80 km/h.
It was moving westward slowly.
Reports say Bolaven is expected to head to Japan.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms because of the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) and localized thunderstorms.
Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters are forecast for the whole country.
The sun rose over Metro Manila at 5:46 a.m. Sunset will be at 5:41 p.m.
