Number coding suspended from Holy Wednesday to Good Friday

by Kiko Cueto

THE Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said that the number coding is suspended starting Holy Wednesday, March 27-29, 2024.

According to the MMDA, this gives the riding public and motorists an opportunity to use their vehicles and have more cars for commuters.

There is no number coding on Saturdays and Sundays, the MMDA said.

Holy Week, which starts on Palm Sunday and ends on Easter Sunday, is the last week of Lent, during which Christians fast, pray and give alms to the needy.

The Philippines is a predominantly Catholic nation with some 80 percent of the more than 110 million Philippine population.
