WITH the UP College Admission Test (UPCAT) being open for the weekend, thousands of examinees thronged to the Diliman campus.
Due to this, the University of the Philippines (UP) warned motorists of heavy traffic nearby.
In a post by the UP Diliman Office of the Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs (UP OVCCA), they stated that 23 academic buildings on the campus would serve as testing centers for examinees.
The UPCAT test is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday from 5 am to 6 pm.
In the post, it is also said that an estimated 30,000 examinees are expected to arrive on the campus each testing day.
Due to the high volume of people that are expected to come, everyone is advised to seek alternative routes.
The academic oval will also be closed to joggers and cyclists for the weekend.
In a memorandum last Thursday, The UP OVCCA said a 10-second rule will be implemented for the loading and unloading of passengers at the drop-off points.
A “No Parking/No Waiting Policy” would also be enforced at the Academic Oval and three streets in UP Diliman.
The UPCAT tests include subtests: Language proficiency in English and Filipino, Reading Comprehension, Science, and Mathematics.
For the examinees who’ll be passing the UPCAT test are set to be admitted in the first semester of the school year 2025-2026.
