COMMUTERS will have to pay more for jeepney rides starting October 8.
On Tuesday, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) approved a P1 provisional fare increase in response to the petitions of transport groups that cited soaring oil prices.
This means the minimum fare for the first four kilometers will be P13 for a traditional jeepney and P15 for a modern jeepney.
The LTFRB also reminded jeepney drivers and operators to give discounts to qualified groups such as senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and students.
