EMPLOYEES of Metro Manila’s local government units will report to work one hour early starting April 15.
In a resolution passed by the Metro Manila Council, the LGUs agreed to adjust the working hours to 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. from the usual 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to ease traffic congestion in the National Capital Region.
“The persistent traffic congestion in Metro Manila demands innovative solutions for the improvement of commuting conditions and the well-being of the citizens of the NCR,” the resolution stated.
“The findings derived from the MMDA study underscore the potential effectiveness of implementing a standardized working schedule for government offices in Metro Manila, particularly during peak hours, in reducing traffic congestion,” it added.
The MMC also urged national agencies in Metro Manila to adopt modified working hours.
