Marikina River sounds third alarm; forced evacuation employed

THE Marikina River sounded its third alarm at 10 a.m., Wednesday, prompting forced evacuation to residents near the river and low lying areas.

In an advisory by the Markina PIO, they said that the river swelled to a dangerous 18 meters and will continue to rise.

Residents are advised to take shelter at the evacuation centers identified by the LGU.

It sounded second alarm at 6:45 a.m. and the first alarm was raised at 4:30 a.m. as the water reached 15.0 meters.
